Powering an immersive performance.

The ABBA Arena is the 3,000-capacity home of ABBA Voyage, bringing digital performers together with a physical stage and live audience. Its fully demountable structure called for engineering that could support an unusually demanding entertainment experience.

Working with construction partners ES Global, Griffiths Evans developed the RIBA Stage 3 and 4 mechanical, electrical and public health design.

Our HVAC design combines efficient displacement ventilation in the auditorium with local, demand-controlled ventilation in the pre-event and bar areas. The approach responds to the different occupancy and comfort requirements across the venue.

The show systems represent a significant electrical demand. We led the analysis of those loads so that the infrastructure could support the production reliably, without unnecessary oversizing.
